Historian: Jill Biden Is The Real Decision Maker In The White House

On Sunday, during an interview on CBS News’ “Face The Nation,” Douglas Brinkley, the author of The Unfinished Presidency, claimed to know why, despite his age and his own Department of Justice claiming he’s not all there, Joe Biden insists on running for reelection. First Lady Jill Biden is making him do it.

The professor at Rice University asserted that unlike some of her predecessors who realized that another term would only hurt the legacy of their presidential husbands, Jill just likes the White House to quit now.

Brinkley claims that Jill is the most “vital part” of Biden’s lagging presidential campaign.

He noted that both former Presidents Harry Truman and Lyndon B. Johnson decided to leave office because their wives told them they didn’t want to serve a second term, writes The Daily Wire.

“She is the vital part. Dr. Jill Biden is it,” he said. “You know, if you go back to 1952, Harry Truman could have run, and he didn’t. Why? Well, the Korean War and, you know, other reasons. But — but Bess wanted to go back to Independence [Missouri] — she didn’t like it in Washington.”

“If you cut to ’68, Lyndon Johnson was – quit in March of ’68 and people will say because of Walter Cronkite. No,” he continued. “The big thing was his health was bad, he had a bad heart, he was smoking, high blood pressure, tension, and Lady Bird Johnson didn’t want to stay in. And she wanted – let’s go back to Texas and convinced Johnson to step down.”

“That’s not the case with Jill Biden. She likes power. She wants to stay. She wants some sense of revenge,” he continued. “She teaches in Virginia Community College. This milieu around our building here, this is her home. And the idea of relinquishing it all after you’ve taken the slings and arrows of the last years of attacks, and at the last minute, just when you get all the delegates you’re going to say, I’m going to open it up to a bunch of people — it’s very childish when you read those kind of reports.”

The decision to run for reelection has long been a decision that was up to Jill rather than Joe.

The Washington Post reported in 2022 that when asked if the first lady supported a 2024 run, the president nodded and paused before providing a full answer. “My wife thinks that we’re doing something very important and that I shouldn’t walk away from it,” he said.

Joe Biden has always been a devoted husband to his wife. Last summer, Jill Biden’s ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, claimed the then senator from Delaware has been weaponizing the federal government against enemies for decades. He should know, he says the Biden Family has been doing it to him for years.

Married to the First Lady from. 1970 to 1975, Stevenson said during an interview with Newsmax that he was “targeted” by Joe Biden for getting in way of his ambitions much in the same way that Donald Trump and other conservative activists have been over the past few years.

“Frankie Biden of the Biden crime family comes up to me and he goes, ‘Give her the house or you’re going to have serious problems,’” Bill Stevenson told Newsmax’s Greg Kelly Wednesday night of the moment President Biden’s brother Frank allegedly approached him when he and Jill divorced in the mid-1970s.

“I looked at Frankie and I said, ‘Are you threatening me?’ and needless to say, about two months later, my brother and I were indicted for that tax charge for $8,200.”

Like her husband, Jill has also played the moderate while appealing to the Democratic Party’s activist base. Last Christmas she was lampooned after inviting a “Defund the Police” dance troupe that has also launched broadsides against Israel to the White House to celebrate her decorations.
