Hunter Biden Bails On Public Testimony After Demanding It

A few months ago, Hunter Biden held a publicity stunt on the grounds of the Capitol, announcing that he would be ignoring a subpoena from the House of Representatives into his business activities. The House Oversight Committee had called on the crown prince of the Biden Family after it was revealed that the president had more of a connection to his son’s businesses than previously thought.

Politico reported in December that “President Joe Biden’s son insisted to a gathering of reporters that he wants to testify publicly and not in a private meeting, as Republicans demanded in a subpoena. And he teed off against GOP investigators like Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.), accusing them of having “impugned my character” and “attacked” members of his family.

‘Here I am, Mr. Chairman, taking up your offer when you said we can bring these people in for depositions or committee hearings, whichever they choose. Well, I’ve chosen. I’m here to testify in a public hearing today to answer any of the committee’s legitimate questions,’ Hunter Biden said at a press conference near the Capitol.

‘Republicans do not want an open process where Americans can see their tactics. … What are they afraid of? I’m here. I’m ready,’ he added.”

After being threatened with charges for contempt of Congress, Hunter caved and gave damning testimony about his actions and how they related to his father. At one point, it was revealed that Biden was, indeed, “The Big Guy” who was supposed to receive a cut in his earnings.

Following his closed testimony, the House Oversight Chairman granted Hunter his wish and invited him to testify under oath before the American public.

It appears Biden was bluffing the whole time.

President Joe Biden’s first son rejected an invitation from House Republicans to attend a public hearing alongside his former business associates, despite previously demanding such an arrangement be made, according to a letter obtained by the Daily Caller.

Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer previously invited Hunter Biden to testify alongside his former business associates Devon Archer, Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis on March 20. Abbe David Lowell, Hunter Biden’s attorney, turned down the invitation on Wednesday, calling the public hearing a “blatant planned-for-media event.”

“Your blatant planned-for-media event is not a proper proceeding but an obvious attempt to throw a Hail Mary pass after the game has ended. Let me remind you of a statement you made about how witnesses—and specifically Mr. Biden—could satisfy your prior requests,” Lowell wrote in the letter obtained by the Daily Caller.

“At your press conference after the January 10, 2024, Committee hearing to hold Mr. Biden in contempt, you stated: ‘All we need are people to come in for the depositions and then we’ll be finished. We just need people to show up to the depositions, and we’ll wrap this up. Nobody wants to wrap this up more than I do.’ Mr. Biden did just as you asked and, as you did when you announced that witnesses could choose depositions, you want to ignore what you said,” Lowell continued.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer asked Hunter to testify publicly on March 20, alongside former business partners Devon Archer, Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis.

The National Review noted that “Galanis is serving a lengthy prison sentence for defrauding a Native American tribe through a bond-issuance scheme. His attorney has said Galanis is willing to testify on March 20th, the date of the scheduled hearing.

‘One week from today – on Wednesday, March 20 – I will testify publicly before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. I am excited and happy to have the opportunity to once again share the facts with the American people,’ Bobulinski said in a statement to National Review.

‘I was disappointed to see the news today that Hunter is running away from his chance to tell the American people the truth. He’s been adamant in wanting to go before the American people, and Oversight is now giving him that opportunity. Now is the time to step up, Hunter, as you have said you want to do,’ Bobulinski added.”

Bobulinski first caught media attention when he claimed that the FBI was purposely helping the Biden’s cover up their corruption

According to reports, “Bobulinski testified he personally met with Joe Biden in 2017 for more than 45 minutes. He also testified that Joe Biden “enabled” his son Hunter to sell access to America’s “most dangerous adversaries,” including the Chinese Communist Party, Russia and more.

Meanwhile, Galanis, who is serving a 14-year sentence, testified from prison that Joe Biden was allegedly considering joining the board of a joint venture created by Hunter Biden and his business associates with ties to the Chinese Communist Party after he left the vice presidency.

Galanis also said that the words ‘lean in’ were ‘used often by Devon and Hunter in our business dealings as a term for access to Vice President Biden’s political influence.'”

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer responded to Hunter’s refusal by saying, “The House Oversight Committee has called Hunter Biden’s bluff. Hunter Biden for months stated he wanted a public hearing, but now that one has been offered alongside his business associates that he worked with for years, he is refusing to come. During our deposition and interview phase of our investigation, Hunter Biden confirmed key evidence, including evidence that his father, President Joe Biden, lied to the American people about his family’s business dealings and in fact attended meetings, spoke on speakerphone, and had coffee with his foreign business associates who collectively funneled millions to the Bidens. However, parts of Hunter Biden’s testimony contradict the testimonies of Devon Archer, Jason Galanis, and Tony Bobulinski. Next week’s hearing with Hunter Biden and his associates is moving forward, and we fully expect Hunter Biden to participate. The American people demand the truth and accountability for the Bidens’ corruption.”

Hunter will be going to trial over gun charges this June.
