Book: Biden Wanted Whitmer Over Harris In 2020

A new book has revealed that Joe Biden understands what most of public can clearly see: Kamala Harris is not up to job as vice president. A new book by journalist Charlie Spiering called Amateur Hour: Kamala Harris in the White House states that the president wanted Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer to be his running mate in 2020, but eventually bowed to pressure from Barack Obama.

After spending months promising that he would choose a woman for vice president, Biden picked Harris a few days before the Democratic National Convention.

Spiering writes that Harris has not been able to rise to the occasion and that the president still has concerns about her deep unpopularity as they seek reelection in November.

While the 59-year-old Harris is just “a brain stroke away from the presidency,” her “many struggles and mistakes during her first years in office were top of mind” for the now-81-year-old president heading into his re-election campaign, Spiering writes, according to The New York Post.

While the 59-year-old Harris is just “a brain stroke away from the presidency,” her “many struggles and mistakes during her first years in office were top of mind” for the now-81-year-old president heading into his re-election campaign, Spiering writes.

The “hilarious, incompetent, trailblazing radical” suffered “disastrous and comical first years as vice president,” Spiering adds, noting her limited authority as the Biden administration’s border czar.

The book recounts that Harris was also not the choice of Biden’s wife, Jill, who favored former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice for the role and had fumed to close supporters after a bitter Democratic primary debate that the California senator should “go f—” herself.

In 2019, Harris accused Joe Biden of racism, though not being “a racist,” during one of the early Democratic debates.

To be fair to Kamala, she may have had a point. The administration has been hit with claims that the administration is not supportive of African American staff, and the president has sparked concerns from Democrats worried that he is losing support from Black voters.

To say Harris has struggled as vice president would be an understatement. Just over a year ago, New Conservative Post detailed some of her problems, almost all of which, according to reports, come from Harris’ “deep insecurity.”

“The vice president has undoubtedly been bewildering Democrats (and the nation) since she took office in 2021. In March 2022, typically friendly media even wondered if Harris might be the worst vice president of all time. They tallied up her failings, saying she was put “in charge of addressing the crisis at the southern border, which has grown exponentially worse since she took on that responsibility. And Biden occasionally sends her off to make speeches. But that’s turned out to be even worse than her handling of the border crisis — because a vice president’s only real job is to not embarrass the president and the administration. That’s something Biden is able to do, and often does, without any help from Harris.

Social media has had a field day compiling her word-salad speeches and making them available for everyone to snicker at. And that tendency will likely only get worse with the ‘passage of time,’ because ‘there is great significance to the passage of time,’ as Harris is fond of saying.”

Her failures have worn down her staff, as well. Starting in 2021, it only took six months for Harris’s incredible incompetence to leak into the public as staff members jumped ship. The Washington Post wrote at the time, “Critics scattered over two decades point to an inconsistent and at times degrading principal who burns through seasoned staff members who have succeeded in other demanding, high-profile positions. People used to putting aside missteps, sacrificing sleep and enduring the occasional tirade from an irate boss say doing so under Harris can be particularly difficult, as she has struggled to make progress on her vice-presidential portfolio or measure up to the potential that has many pegging her as the future of the Democratic Party.”

2023 was not better for Harris. Following the terrorist attack launched by Hamas against Israel this past October, the veep’s stepdaughter came under fire when it was revealed that she was raising funds that would likely end up in the terrorist group’s hands.

“Ella Emhoff, 24 — whose father, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, is Jewish — affixed a fundraising drive “supporting urgent relief for Gaza’s children” on her personal Instagram account.

It makes no mention of the scores of Israeli children murdered among the 1,400 innocent Israelis killed by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7.

Her promotion puts the funding appeal in front of her 315,000 Instagram followers,” wrote The New York Post.

Fox News claims that “the first and second families are not close. First Lady Jill Biden has not invited Harris and her Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff for dinner in the residence of the White House, and the two couples rarely spend extended time in the same room.”

With Spiering’s new book out, I think people should not expect those bridges to be mended for a while.
