Former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski, boxing champion Floyd Mayweather and other sports celebrities appeared outside New Hampshire polling places Tuesday as Turning Point Action mounted a major get-out-the-vote effort in the state.

Gronkowski posed for photos with voters and their families at Bedford High School. Former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola was seen outside Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, while Mayweather posed for a photo outside Alvirne High School in Hudson. Former Boston Red Sox All-Star Kevin Youkilis also appeared at a polling place in Hampstead. Photos showed Gronkowski and Mayweather near Turning Point tents, according to local reports.

Many residents had received text messages ahead of Election Day previewing celebrity appearances at polling sites. The source of the messages was not immediately clear. The visits took place as Turning Point Action worked to bring low-propensity voters to the polls through its “Commit to Chase 100 Ballots” initiative and tents outside polling places.

The celebrity appearances added a high-profile element to an extensive ground operation. Turning Point Action trained activists on New Hampshire’s absentee ballot process, distributed campaign signs for Republican Senate candidate John E. Sununu and organized voter outreach. The group’s chief operating officer, Tyler Bowyer, told CNN in July, “We’re putting the biggest ground force that’s ever been put on the ground in New Hampshire for Republicans.” In October, CNN reported that “New Hampshire appears to have become a centerpiece of Turning Point Action’s midterm work.”

The operation comes a year after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who founded Turning Point USA and built it into a national force in conservative politics. Turning Point Action is a separate political organization in the broader Turning Point network, which has continued expanding its electoral work since Kirk’s death.

Kirk’s influence extended beyond campus organizing. Vice President JD Vance credited Kirk’s ability to bring people together with helping build support for his political career and the Trump administration. “So much of the success we’ve had in this administration traces directly to Charlie’s ability to organize and convene,” Vance said. He described Kirk’s role in a tribute after the assassination.

Kirk’s assassination also brought new attention to the security risks surrounding conservative public figures and political events. The FBI examined social media posts that appeared to hint at advance knowledge of the killing, while a later report said the bureau advised broadcaster Pat McAfee to wear a bulletproof vest after the attack. The New Hampshire appearances and a surprise victory in the Granite State could be a fitting tribute to what Kirk built and what he stood for in the face of liberal violence.
