Democrats are going to continue to call conservatives Nazis and fascists, even if it leads to more assassinations. House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, in remarks following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, rejected the notion that Democrats bear responsibility for violent rhetoric aimed at conservatives, insisting that incitement was never the party’s intent.
It comes across as though Pelosi understands that the Democrats have nothing binding them together other than an extreme hatred for Trump and his supporters, so they cannot drop their extremism.
🚨 JUST IN: Nancy Pelosi says Democrats can't take "responsibility" for their rhetoric against conservatives, because it wasn't their "intention" for violence to ensue.

Her comments came amid a firestorm of national debate over whether inflammatory political language fuels the climate of violence that claimed the life of the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder, a close ally of President Donald Trump. Kirk was gunned down Wednesday in Utah, his death punctuating an already volatile season of political unrest.
Trump himself blamed “radical left political violence” for the killing, amplifying calls from the right for accountability. Pelosi’s defense, however, underscored the deep partisan divide: while some Democrats and Republicans alike condemned political violence without caveat, Pelosi drew a line, insisting Democrats should not be blamed for an outcome they did not intend.
Since it was revealed that the assassin was a ardent leftist who used the same language as the Democratic base, liberals have weirdly, spent much of their time in denial, claiming that he was actually a Republican without evidence.
At some point, it looks like it’s its own derangement. For example, Democratic congressman Sean Casten tweeted that Robinson was on the far right.
This is a good time to re-read the NYT’s profile of Nick Fuentes from last week and the far-right anti-Semitic, deeply racist “groyper” movement that appears to have motivated Tyler Robinson. https://t.co/V42FCw2sRt

The Guardian, an openly liberal newspaper, debunked these theories, writing that in a phone interview on Friday, someone who said they were friends with Robinson in high school, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that the suspect was “pretty left on everything” and was “the only member of his family that was really leftist”.
“The rest of his family was very hard Republican,” the friend said.
Around sophomore year, the friend said, Robinson became more extreme in his political views and would “always just be ranting and arguing about them”.
When the friend saw the news on Friday, he said that he was shocked. “I knew he [Robinson] had strong political views, but I never thought it would even go near that far.”
One of the bullets found from the gun used to murder Kirk said, “Hey fascist! Catch!”
Guy Benson summed it up nicely:
Think about who’s been lying to you about this, even after the details revealed in press conference this morning. And even after he shot *Charlie Kirk* to death. https://t.co/u5vNrUszOo

Reactions have been as polarized as the moment itself. Some lawmakers urged a cooling of partisan speech, warning that unchecked vitriol risks emboldening extremists. Others, pointing to Pelosi’s remarks, argued that equivocation only gives permission to the Democratic base to continue its violence.
