By Hunter Biden says former President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread into his bones and is now causing significant pain, offering a grim update on the 83-year-old former president’s health.
In an emotional BBC interview broadcast late Friday, Hunter Biden said his father’s cancer has metastasized beyond the prostate.
“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” he said. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”
The revelation comes more than a year after Biden publicly announced his cancer diagnosis in May 2025, less than four months after leaving the White House, explained The Associated Press.
Biden was the oldest president in American history, and questions about his physical and mental condition followed him throughout his presidency. Those concerns exploded into public view following his disastrous June 2024 debate against Donald Trump, ultimately helping force Biden to abandon his reelection campaign.

The episode also prompted intense scrutiny of Biden’s White House, his family and Democratic officials over how much they knew about his declining condition and whether the public was given an accurate picture of the president’s health while he remained in office.
Hunter Biden said watching his father battle cancer has been difficult for the family.
“It’s really sad to watch,” Biden said. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”
Despite the pain, Hunter Biden said the former president remains engaged in public affairs and continues speaking out on issues he considers important.
“He’s still doing his thing,” he said. “He so believes in this country.”
Biden is scheduled to release a memoir, “Promise Me, America,” following the midterm elections.
The latest disclosure is likely to renew questions surrounding Biden’s health during his final years in office, particularly after aides and allies repeatedly pushed back against concerns about his age and fitness while he was president.
